Organisation of Football in Jordan

The organisation of football in Jordan is structured around a hierarchical league system, allowing clubs to ascend or descend based on their performances. This system is divided into several tiers, ranging from professional football to amateur football.

At the top of the hierarchy is the Jordanian Pro League, which is the highest level of Jordanian football. It comprises 12 professional clubs that compete for the title of Jordanian champion. The bottom two clubs in the standings at the end of the season are relegated to the Jordanian Division 1, which also includes 12 clubs. The top two teams from Division 1 are promoted to the Pro League, while the bottom two are relegated to the Jordanian Division 2.

The Jordanian Division 2, the third tier of Jordanian football, hosts a variable number of clubs, primarily semi-professional. The best teams are promoted to Division 1, and the least successful may be relegated to the Jordanian Division 3. This level is the last national level of Jordanian football.

The Jordanian Division 3, the fourth tier of Jordanian football, is organised into several regional groups. It includes amateur clubs as well as reserve teams from professional clubs. Beyond Division 3, the system continues with local divisions, highlighting the depth and richness of Jordanian football at all levels of competition.
